Apple’s Secret Feature- The Dual Sim iPhone Module Revealed.

The Luxury of having two simcards in an iPhone is possible and it could be coming soon now that this secret feature by Apple has been discovered. All iPhone outside the Chinese market ship with a single simcard although they have two IMEIs and support to numbers. The second number is an eSim that you can get from your service provider if they can and that option is not available in many countries. Could the single sim iPhone support dual sim after a few hardware modifications?

Hugh Jeffreys set out to find out the truth.  He purchased replacement dual-SIM component for a Chinese iPhone and embarked on the journey of installing it on the western iPhone. He started by opening the iPhone and surprisingly it wasn’t hard to get the sim module. Phones with modular sim readers in this case are the ones eligible; the iPhone 10R, 11 and iPhone 12.

After replacing the dual sim modular and restarting the iPhone, it booted well and brought up the dual sim set up screen. The setup was a success and he was able to make calls using both Sims without any hardware misfits. Usually third-party repairers find challenges with Apple products like hardware lockouts when repairing the Apple touch ID sensor.

With that experience of compatibility, you wonder why Apple has not given users an option of buying a dual sim iPhone. Maybe they will make it possible now that we are aware of the possibility of  dual sim iPhones outside the market of China.
