Xiaomi overtakes Samsung as the top Smartphone Vendor in Europe.

The latest report from Strategy Analytics shows that Xiaomi has overtaken Samsung to become the top vendor by shipments in Europe. According to the report, the Chinese company and smartphone maker, Xiaomi has now acquired a 25.3 percent market share while Samsung’s has 24 percent and Apple’s 19.2 percent. The next top market share holders are Oppo and Realme which round up the top 5.

Europe saw a +14% growth in shipments in Q2 of 2021 recovering from the effects of the crash caused by the pandemic and lockdowns of 2020.  Over 50M smartphone units were shipped in Europe with Xiaomi supplying 12.7 Million, Samsung 12 Million, Apple 9.6 Million, Oppo 2.8 Million, Realme 1.9 Million and others 11.1 million units.

“The highlight of the quarter is Xiaomi emerging as Europe’s number one vendor by smartphone shipments for the first time ever. We estimate Xiaomi shipped a record 12.7 million units in Europe to overtake long-time leader Samsung. Xiaomi has seen high demand in Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, and elsewhere. European customers are eager for Xiaomi’s Mi and Redmi series of feature-rich, value smartphones.”
