Apple Acquires Another Digital Health Startup.

Apple is said to have acquired another Digital Health Startup. Unlike other big companies across the globe, Apple is also serious about helping people get healthier. In recent years, The tech giant has acquired a good number of Digital Health Startups across the globe, and recently acquired Tueo Health, a Redwood City-based digital health startup for an undisclosed amount.

 

What is Tueo Health’s brief background?

Tueo Health’s business model is Creating a digital health solution for improved asthma management. As well as empowering patients and their families to take control of the disease. Inside sources have it that Apple’s interests are in incorporating the startup into its products forexample the Apple Watch.

 

Founded in 2015, Tueo Health startup raised a known $1.1 million in funding over its lifetime. This is according to its Crunchbase profile. The company, whose name comes from the Latin word “meaning to observe, care for, and maintain,” focuses on asthma management. A total of 6 Investors are funding the company.  (Plug and Play, Launchpad Digital Health, Particular Ventures, HealthTech Capital, A-Level Capital, MedTech Innovator).

 

How Tueo Health Works?

Tueo Health was developing a mobile app that worked with commercial breathing sensors to help manage asthma symptoms in children. In addition, the app would send alerts to parents if their child’s breathing changed at night.

As Apple attempts to diversify and not only focus on iPhone sales, it is hoping to acquire more startups. More so especially those focused on Digital Health services in the near future.
