Uganda lost their game against Morocco yesterday in a 7-goal thriller that saw them trail 2:5. This followed a string of performances where they only gained one point from their previous games. Uganda now sits at the bottom of the table with one point.
In the game, Soufiane Rahimi of Morocco scored twice for African Nations Championship title-holders Morocco. Uganda scored first in the 25th minute through Ibrahim Orit but the champions came from behind to score 4 consecutively. Saidi Kyeyune pulled one back to make it 2:4 but an own goal by Charles Lukwago saw the end 2:5. This win takes Morocco to the quarter-finals and Uganda home.
Uganda has conceded 24 goals during five appearances in the Nations Championship, more than any other country. Unfortunately, that’s a record we don’t want as a country.
We now focus on AFCON. Go Cranes.
