Entrepreneurs in the 18 – 30 age group can apply for the Wazo Challenge East Africa. This challenge is for young entrepreneurs and startups , who are residents of countries from the UN designated Eastern Africa region. All entrepreneurs who have an idea to solve a local business / social problem, by leveraging technology are encouraged to send in applications to compete for the ultimate prize of USD 10000.
Youth who use technology to build solutions and solve challenges in any of the below can apply:
- Financial Services
- Healthcare
- Agriculture
- Energy / Utility
- Educational
Among the entrepreneurs who apply for the Wazo Challenge East Africa, only ten high-potential founders will be selected to benefit from a 4 week venture building mentorship and leadership development bootcamp. The Venture Bootcamp will help establish / reiterate basic venture development processes, enable industry connections, international networks, peer community and more.
During the course of the bootcamp, each selected startup will get access to $150,000 worth of technology credits from our partners, that will help the selected Founders to build fast, and at scale. Partners include among others, FreshWorks, AWS, IBM, Digital Ocean, and HubSpot.
