Singapore Airlines is set to be the first airline to use the Travel Pass Digital Health Passport to verify COVID-19 test results. Travel Pass is a digital solution by The International Air Transport Association (IATA) and it says that this app is more secure and efficient than the paper form used. Many travelers have shown the desire to use a Digital Health Passport and a Covid-19 Travel Pass App could come in handy.
How to use the Covid-19 Travel Pass App.
- Download the app and create a digital ID. Travelers can also add their travel details to the App and make the profile complete.
- Book pre-departure Covid-19 test. Visit pre-identified COVID-19 testing clinics in Singapore using a dedicated online portal. Passengers will use clinics in the areas they will be traveling from once other places ad airlines take it up.
- Register at the clinic using a digital ID, add the flight details.
- After the tests, passengers will be able to view results and confirmation status to fly.
- Show confirmed status at check-in before the flight departure.
For now, passengers also need to show their physical copies of their results from the clinic. Singapore airlines is hoping to integrate Travel Pass in its existing booking app to ease the check-in process of passengers.
Another interesting feature of the Travel Pass App is that vaccinated users will be able to scan or take a picture of the vaccination card. The card is compared against your digital credential to verify and eliminate fraud.
