Footsteps of a Victorious Walk.

Winds of change swept across the nation of Uganda. This was  through a move on how our next leadership ought to be at different administrative levels in the country. A race that has left many in unexpected joy after a victorious landslide. On the other side, many were left in disgrace at turnup end of things. Yearning for change, Ugandan citizens got involved in elections at different levels across the nation.

Well,  having spoken with one of Nakawa Youth Chairperson; Lawyer, and Politician, Buzimwa Remgious says he longs for that day when Youth Politics won’t be commercialized anymore. “Our nation has lost out on potential leaders because we have fallen prey to the acts of our predecessors. When we entered power as delegates from the village level up to where we are on sub-county, many of us youth leaders promised that we won’t fall for the acts of our senior youth because we desired to fight and see youth get better livelihoods. We were never voted because we had money but our fellow youth saw potential in us. Potential to lead them and advocate for them in all the different spheres of life”, said.

.

At the culmination of all events, one asks him or herself, “Are we as citizens of Uganda missing something?”. Have we done enough to ensure the wellbeing and development of our nation? Not with a shadow of  doubt, until citizens learn and understand the benefits of civic education, we will only be left at a side admiring the true dynamics of an impactful change. This calls for an embarking on the system that gives you more advantage of accessing and enjoying your rights band duties as a citizen but while with the back of your mind you facilitating true development upon your nation.
