The COVID-19 pandemic has hit hard and created atoll of problems. Of the problems that it caused, mental health has been among them. Because of this, there is a dire need for people to access help when they need it. World Mental Health Day just passed and Facebook has teamed up with partners from the medical field and launched an initiative. It will connect people to mental health resources around the world.
The New Emotional Health Resource Center is available globally and it will contain relevant information from mental health experts. So the Facebook emotional feature contains tips on how to cope with hard times during COVID-19.
The feature is being ruled out with all Facebook partner programs including WhatsApp which has a WHO bot for stress management, Messenger, and Instagram. Messenger has stickers that were designed with WHO that will facilitate conversations about mental health. Instagram has new mental-well-being guides that teach teens about the harm of spending a lot of time online. With these services, you can access information that will help you cope and get help on what you’re going through. Alternatively, you can talk to someone or a professional or a friend. Moreover, you don’t need to have issues in order to access the resource because you can access it for a friend.
